Pendle Hill High School
Our works involved the refurbishment of existing Blocks A & E, alongside the construction of a brand new, state-of-the-art, three-story development. The project's aim was to combine two buildings under one roof, providing a shared identity while maintaining the connection between diverse learning environments.
Our approach to this project is centered on creating a vibrant, sustainable and cohesive environment for the school. The new development includes a central courtyard that serves as the heart of the building, providing a community space for students, faculty, and visitors alike.
To ensure the safety and structural integrity of the building, we have utilised a combination of reinforced precast and insitu columns, along with insitu concrete walls that provide the necessary lateral resistance to earthquakes and wind loading. One-way banded post-tensioned slabs have been utilized for the floor systems, allowing for large spans to the learning spaces and catering to the large cantilevers that are required for the project.
