Dickson on Northbourne (SOHO)

Welcome to the Dickson on Northbourne (Soho) project, located in the Australian Capital Territory. Our team at Indesco has collaborated with Canberra Town Planning, Cox Architects, and Redbox Design Group to develop an Estate Development Plan and detailed design for the redevelopment of this former public housing site.

The site boasts three heritage-listed structures, multiple regulated trees, traffic limitations, and hydraulic infrastructure constraints, which required careful consideration during the design process. Our team has also worked closely with the National Capital Authority (NCA) to ensure the project aligns with the Northbourne Avenue corridor vision.

Formerly known as the Dickson Flats, Garden Flats, and Karuah Maisonettes, this mixed-use development will include residential and minor commercial land uses. Our design team has prioritized creating active travel corridors by implementing pedestrian-friendly streets parallel to Northbourne Avenue, promoting sustainable transportation and community connectivity.
