Structural design was challenging due to the large internal open space envisaged by the architects. The architectural form for the front balconies required design and analysis to be carried out using 3D finite element modelling.
As the site is ‘locked in’ from three of the four boundaries, early detailed coordination of structural design concepts with other consultants was required in order to complete the design successfully. 3D prints of the balconies were completed to aid in the coordination.
