Indesco has been working with Canberra Town Planning, Cox Architects and Redbox Design Group to prepare the Estate Development Plan and detailed design for the redevelopment of this former public housing site. This site includes three separate heritage listed structures, numerous regulated trees, traffic limitations and hydraulic infrastructure constraints.
The site is also subject to detailed coordination with the NCA in order to deliver on the Northbourne Avenue corridor vision. Formerly the Dickson Flats, Garden Flats and Karuah Maisonettes, the redeveloped site is subject to Mixed Use zoning and will contain residential and minor commercial land uses.
Relevant to this project, the design team has focused on creating active travel corridors by enabling pedestrian friendly streets running parallel to Northbourne Avenue.
