This staged development of Pendle Hill High School consists of refurbishing the existing Block A & E and construction of a new 3 level development that combines two buildings under a connected roof. The integrated solution provides a shared identity while maintaining connectivity between diverse learning environments. A central courtyard provides a community heart to the building.
The vertical structure included a combination reinforced Precast & insitu columns and insitu concrete walls providing the lateral resistance to earthquake and wind loading.
One-way banded post tensioned slabs where utilised for the floor systems allowing large spans to the learning spaces and cater for the large cantilevers.
