This mixed use multi storey development consisted of six storeys above ground with a single basement. Indesco's services consisted of Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering and Building Hydraulics. The client had specific requirements for the commercial space which consisted of 15m Clear spans between columns. Indesco's structural solution of post tension slabs spanning between load bearing facade precast with internal blade walls led to the most economical outcome. All aspects of the structural elements were designed in house, including the post tensioned slabs. The development also consisted of a large external podium which required a high level of coordination between the different disciplines to ensure adequate overland flow, crack control of the slab and build ability of the structure. Other parts of the scope included the stormwater drainage, stormwater reuse, sanitary drainage, hot and cold water supply, water supply for hydrants and fire hose reels, driveways and adjustments to the surrounding roads and on road car parking. The structural documentation of this project was completed in Revit which enabled high level of detail and coordination of structural elements. Quantities of structural elements were also available to the builder during both tendering and construction phase to enable accurate cost control of the construction
