The SPIRE project is the largest healthcare infrastructure project being undertaken in the ACT, which will help meet the increasing demand for complex healthcare services required by our growing, and ageing, population. Part of these enabling works was the design and construction of supplementary car parking for use by hospital staff and contractor personnel during construction of the new SPIRE facility.
Indesco was engaged as part of this project to undertake design services for the construction of a new car park at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) site in Woden, ACT.
Constraints due to the temporary nature of the car parking facility required Indesco to provide design to retain existing parking where possible but provide general repair/replacement of damaged infrastructure that would not meet the intended lifespan of the site. The car park will have an intended life span of 5-10 years, after which the site is likely to be repurposed as a new education facility.
