2019 is looking to be another cracker of a year! Our teams are looking forward to getting their teeth into some exciting projects including the continuing design of West Basin, the ongoing design and construction of the Taylor Residential Estate and watching as Cirrus comes out of the ground. We are all also very much looking forward to experiencing the Indesco Floriade design, which is sure to wow the capital!
Our team will be taking a well earned break however and the office will be closed from 12pm Friday 21st December 2018 through to 8:30am Monday 7th January 2019.
From the team at Indesco we wish all our clients and their families a festive and safe holiday season, look forward to working with you all again in the New Year!!
Treehouse is a not for profit community organisation, staffed and managed by local people, committed to providing early intervention services to children with additional needs and their families.
This year the passionate Queanbeyan community, including many local and ACT companies, have rallied together to finance, design and construct a new building for Treehouse.
Aaron Hazelton, James Koroday and Mario Galvez have been busy working on the Structural design for the new community facility and last Saturday 22nd September 2018 Aaron and James (proud Queanbeyan locals) joined Queanbeyan Mayor Tim Overall and Deputy NSW Premier John Barilaro to mark the official opening of the new facility.
Well done to everyone involved in the project, an excellent example of what can be achieved when a community rallies together!

We congratulate Nathan, one of our Senior Construction Managers, on reaching a significant milestone this month – 10 years working with Indesco!
Nathan, who joined Indesco in 2008 as a surveillance officer, has successfully worked his way up to Senior Construction Manager covering numerous roles and construction projects along the way.
Nathan’s track record is now well and truly established. His skills and experience in the delivery of large land development projects in particular are widely acknowledged, by both clients and contractors, across the industry. He has worked with, and more recently led, teams of construction engineers and managers, providing mentoring, guidance and valuable local experience.
Nathan has played a major role in the construction of a large range of civil engineering projects throughout the ACT, and has been a key driver in the successful delivery of Casey (Springbank Rise Estate) and Denman Prospect Estate. He is currently managing the delivery of the Taylor Residential Estate.
Indesco value Nathan as a senior member of our leadership team who excels, not only in a professional capacity but also socially, topping the table in our footy tipping comp 2 years in a row (and looking to take out the top spot this year as well!).
On Friday 3rd August the Indesco team took park in Jeans for Genes day. Now in its 25th year Jeans for Genes was established in 1994 by Children’s Medical Research Institute to fund revolutionary research that helps diagnose, understand, and find cures or treatments for conditions affecting kids, including genetic diseases, cancer, and epilepsy.
Not to be deterred by the ominous weather the team enjoyed a Turkish banquet at Weston park (undercover, just in case!). Our planned table tennis tournament was thwarted by the strong winds! But we still managed to squeeze in a few other games to raise money for such a great cause.
Overall we raised just over $400 and look forward to taking part again next year.
The Indesco landscape team recently had a major project win with the 2019 Floriade design. The team have been working both independently and in collaboration with our engineering teams on numerous complex projects this year including:
In addition to our projects, our people have had a great year, John Randall marked 30 years with Indesco in July 2017. Under John’s leadership we welcomed Darren Benson as a Senior Construction Manager, Anna Nagalingam as a Director and most recently, Angus Gorman has stepped up to succeed John as our Managing Director.
The Indesco team also enjoyed many social events throughout the last financial year including our annual Family Day and Christmas Parties. We also took part in a number of charity events including the Mothers Day Classic (raising money for breast cancer) and Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea (raising money for the Cancer Council). We wrapped up the 2017/2018 social calendar with our annual end of financial year cocktail party.
Each year the Master Builders Building Excellence Awards recognises and celebrates the ACT’s best builders, their teams and the projects which have won them acclaim in the residential, commercial and civil construction sectors.
The Indesco team were represented on the night by Angus, Viet, Anna, Aaron, Matt, Nathan, James K, Luke, Karl and Mario. Angus also had the chance to present the award for one of the civil categories.
This year, Indesco was involved in the design or construction of 5 out of the 12 finalists in the Civil Projects Category this year including:
The Indesco Construction Services team has grown this month with the very welcome addition of Darren Benson.
Darren is a Senior Construction Manager with over 24 years experience in engineering and construction for both government and the private sector.
He has extensive experience in both project management and construction of civil projects and key strengths in leading multi-disciplinary teams for major residential and industrial land development projects and road and infrastructure projects.
Darren has worked in the ACT for the last 10 years and has a proven track record in the delivery of civil construction projects.
Having Darren on board is exciting news for Indesco as it greatly enhances our ability to deliver multiple large scale estate and other infrastructure projects.
The Indesco team is busy working in the Molonglo Valley on the construction of Denman Prospect. We are working with Canberra based developer, Capital Estate Developments to deliver this unique estate. Named after Lady Denman, who officially named Australia’s capital city Canberra, and for its spectacular views, the suburb will be a great offering in the inner west.
The first residents are already moving in, while we are busy with construction in Stage 2. On completion, there will be approximately 1,500 dwellings within the three development stages. In addition to the views, the development boasts a new school, a local shopping centre and great open spaces.
In our role as Superintendent, we are providing construction supervision and contract administration services for the civil and landscape packages. We are very fortunate to witness first hand the continually evolving urban landscape in Canberra’s development fronts.
Indesco today announced the appointment of Angus Gorman as Managing Director, with effect from 1 July 2018.
