50th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing at Honeysuckle Creek

Indesco staff were proud to attend the opening ceremony for the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing last Saturday 20th July at Honeysuckle Creek. The ceremony saw the official unveiling of the interpretative signage elements designed by Paul Brookbanks and his team in collaboration with local Aboriginal artist Lynnice Church. The installation commemorated Australia’s role in delivering live video footage of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing to 600 million viewers around the world.

A number of international ambassadors along with members of the ACT government and previous staff of the Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station were present to see the revealing of this significant new landmark.
